EMU eggs are the most important product available in emu farm. In the starting period, the eggs should be used for the purpose of reproduction. Later on, the eggs are used for growing fleshy young ones. The eggs production & hatching always remain everlasting process in the business of emu farming. In the coming years, EMU eggs production will positively make large amount of income. EMU birds normally have a life for 30 to 40 years of age and capable for reproduction for at least 25 years. Hence with a small investment on EMU eggs one can obtain long-term production & profit. A single bird gives minimum twenty and maximum forty eggs every year. The EMU eggs are dark-green in color and each weighs 400 to 600 gms.
Emu chicks breed naturally and/ or by using incubator.
If artificial incubation for breeding is required, it is carried out at a temperature of approximately 97.5 degrees Fahrenheit.
Average incubation time ranges from 48 to 52 days.
New-born chicks are of coffee brown color with white line marks.
Color of chicks changes after 3 months.
Proper food and non-contaminated water is must up to 3 months.
3 months old chick can either be grown for future reproduction and/ or can be sold for other farmers to begin farming; this is one of the most revenue making and less time consuming activity.
Reproducing chicks can be repeated with an adult pair of EMU’s for minimum 25 times (25 - 40 eggs every year).

EMU Meat
The consumption of EMU meat possess healthy food as it has low cholesterol, high on protein, 98% fats free. In India there are estimated 1,000 EMU farms, 300 in Maharashtra itself are up and running in the today.
Each bird can give up about 25 kg of meat.
